Varicose Veins
Varicose veins is a medical condition, where valvular incompetence leads to the backflow of blood and subsequent swelling. This disease may be a consequence of damage to the veins or chronic venous insufficiency, where the high venous pressure causes dilation and tortuosity of the veins.
Varicose veins often occur during pregnancy and usually disappear soon after. Secondary varicose veins may occur as a sequel to Deep Vein Thrombosis
